To quote Tony, “a pedometer is the second-least sexy thing you can wear”.*
However, I have one. And it is awesome.
This bad boy tracks not just your steps (also in mileage), but flights of stairs climbed (how does it know?) and calories burned. It can track your sleep. It wirelessly syncs with your computer (via a USB insert) and an app on your phone. The app can also talk to many other fitness-related apps (i.e. I track my calorie intake on My Fitness Pal and it adjusts my remaining calories based on what FitBit says I’ve burned). If you need a little motivation to encourage your get-up-and-go, I can’t recommend this tool enough.
* If you’re wondering, #1 is long underwear. I was informed I will NOT be purchasing any for our upcoming European trip. Hope somebody’s cool with purchasing hot beverages for me every time I get the shivers!
