I know it’s all Next, all the time, on the Chicago dining scene as of late (I’m breaking into a sweat each time the Facebook page updates too), but I’m really jazzed about Nellcôte. The chef is Jared Van Camp from Old Town Social, inspired by (and named for) the villa where The Rolling Stones recorded “Exile on Main Street”, and, as they so eloquently put it:
Bucking the ubiquitous dining trend of stripped down classic comfort food in rustic, contrived and predictably lowbrow environs, Nellcôte will instead offer our take on classic luxury. Despite the opulent design, the concept will decidedly celebrate the best components of the current handcrafted era—affordable prices, local product and artisanal quality.
Their desire to get back to glamour excites me… as does the preview menu. Sign me up for a reservation… of course, once it finally opens.
